Sandy's First Week

Sandy turns 9 weeks and learns some new skills

2-Minute Read

The first week with Sandy has both crawled and flown by. I may constantly be annoyed by her biting and barking, but she has some admirable traits that shouldn’t be ignored.

  • She is a champion sleeper, going at least 3 hours each night before having to go potty, with last night going 7 hours, even refusing to go out when offered in the middle of the night!
  • Her potty training is going very well. Only a handful of accidents, and usually when she’s not near the door to sit by to signal to us.
  • She has perfected “sit”, and we are making progress on lie down, leave it, stay, and a solid game of fetch.
  • There’s nothing better than when she is totally worn out from a long day of napping, eating & playing (she leads a ruff life) and all she wants to do is crawl into our laps to snuggle.

No Walls will Keep Her In!

We wanted to see how she’d behave in her playpen when we’re not in the room. We usually go in and out of the office, and have done several sessions of slowly extending the time away from her, but wanted to see what she’d do if she had something to keep her occupied while we were in the kitchen. We set up a GoPro and watched it on our phones not even 10 feet from here. She was an angel for 15 minutes, gnawing on a chew stick inside a kong and letting us get some chores done. As soon as she finished the stick though, the devil came out 😈!

Such A Goofball

When she’s not busy biting us or trying to chew on sticks, you can always count on her making you laugh!
